Bunny Sticks and a Smart Dog

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving! Now that the excitement is over, we are trying to get back into our routine. I was busy today with cleaning, laundry, ironing, and well, the normal mom stuff and Allison asked me for a bunny stick. It took me a second to figure it out and then I knew, carrots of course. And when you think about it, they kinda are bunny sticks, right? For some reason my girls like the "regular" sized carrots instead of the baby ones. I am OK with that and they sure enjoy them! They can make anything silly and they didn't disappoint with silly stories of carrots!

And while the girls are enjoying their bunny sticks, Asher is sitting, oh so quietly, in the dining room eating his snack. I go and check on him and here THEY are.

Everything looks fine.

And then, Asher thinks that Mellow needs a snack. How sweet of him.

Do you think Asher is so good at sharing or is it that Mellow is such a smart dog?
I think the next picture speaks for itself.

Don't worry. Asher did not eat anything else from that plate!
Now I know why Mellow loves Asher more than anyone else!

Look what the bunnies left:)

P.S.- I want to welcome the newest addition to the Smith family, Miss Haven Ruby Smith. Can't wait to meet the little sweetie!!!!! Congratulations Jesse, Kristen, Lydia, Malachi, and Acacia!!

Give Thanks

I love the crafts I can do with my kids that have meaning. And with Thanksgiving coming, I wanted to have a craft that reminded them of everything we have to be thankful for. The Lord has been so good to our family and I like to remind the girls of that, whenever possible. They do enough turkey crafts at school, so this craft has a more special purpose. So, I wanted to make a giving thanks tree, of some sort, for our dining room table. Our table is the main hub of our home and the girls spend a lot of time there coloring, reading, and of course, eating!
First, I already had a few fake leaf stems but I wanted to add more leaves. I had the girls color some leaves I had traced out already.

As you can see from the pics, my vision of these leaves were to have them colored, I don't know maybe a nice yellow or perhaps a green color. Nope. My girls wanted a zig zag leaf, a pink leaf, and even a USA leaf. Emma is definitely proud to be an American! Anyway, I then had them write what they are thankful for and I was so blessed to hear what they had to say. They were thankful for Jesus, mom and dad,  our home and even great grandma's and great grandpa Bill. They sure know how to pull on my heart strings! And I am very happy to display this on our table!

P.S.- We are in week six of a kitchen remodel. Please excuse the messy background in all my pics. I hope to post about the remodel soon! This was a huge transformation!

The Beginning

I am very excited to start a blog about my family and things we do together. I hope this blog will help our families stay in touch, because I know some of you don't even know what my children look like!  I am partly to blame for this so, forgive me. I always tell myself to send pics out of the kids, which I still owe pics to some of you from last year ;) All in all, I hope this blog will be a blessing to everyone.
So here is a quick catch up of the kids!

Here are the girls on their first day of school. Yeah, I know I am a little behind but that is what this blog is for, right?! Emma and Allison are the best of friends and spend hours together playing in their bedroom. They are big helpers and I am so happy to be their mommy!

This little guy is my sweetheart. He is such a happy baby and loves being around his sisters or in my arms, most of the day. And yes, he does look a lot like Dustin! Have a great day!
